SORRY we know, mama has been sick, and then working like a mad dog (oops) and our summer has also been very busy but we want you to know we are all in good health and miss you all.

Jake just turned 4 on Sunday, Jessie will be 7 in March and Lola our newest will be 2 in December.

We miss you all and hope to get back on a regular basis, again momma hasn't had a chance to buy a new computer (gee we wonder where all her money goes too - prob us) so she is using work.

Anyway, we hope everyone is good and hope you all had an amazing summer!

RAISING MONEY FOR AUTISTIC CHILDREN

A couple of weeks ago we raised money for autistic children by participating in the Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs. All together we raised over $10,000 in Barrie and over $90,000 across Ontario. The money goes to train dogs to assist Autistic Children. We had a great time and were thrilled when Chelsea and her parents came up for the day.

Ya we know we have been absent - ALL MOMMY'S FAULT! We won't give up - c'mon Mom - priorities!

ANYWAY, SOON IT WILL BE BACK TO NORMAL. WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT WE HAVE HAD A SEVERELY COLD WINTER WITH A TON OF SNOW SO WE HAVEN'T BEEN OUT MUCH.

Mama told us the other week that we were going to spend a whole weekend with Chelsea - we were soo excited. Our Aunt Linda and Chelsea are coming to spend the weekend with us. We were sooo excited and we tried to keep busy until they showed up - and played in the backyard, played with our toys and then just basically hung around waiting - tomorrow we will have some pics of the weekend that we spent with them!

Sometimes, well all the time I don't want Mommy to go to work. Besides kissing her non-stop and following her everyewhere I do something very sneaky. Right before Mama puts me in the kennel I run upstairs and try to look as cute as possible so she will stay with me. What a Success! The weather was beautiful, the turn out was amazing and we had so much fun! We raised more than we thought and we met a lot of wonderful people. OK sure - I almost got attacked by a Rottweiler (who Mama insisted was playing) and then Jessie almost got scared by another dog who tried to jump on her so she almost ripped off a fellow Schnauzer's face and then did the remainder of the walk in Mommy's arms - but hey noone is perfect. The next few days we will feature pics. We really did have a lot of fun!

A couple of weeks ago Mama went with Chelsea's and Daniel's moms to her friend Colleen's baby shower. Why pet safe lawn fertilizer makes sense
Typically, pet owners, do everything they can to provide their pets with a lifetime of love, affection, nutrition and a healthy living environment. Unfortunately, the health risks, associated with the use of chemical lawn fertilizers, herbicides and fungicides, are sometimes overlooked. Pets will munch on lawn grass and when they munch on lawn grass, treated with chemicals, their health is at risk.
Exposure to herbicide-treated lawns and gardens increases the risk of bladder cancer by four to seven times.

Due to this Momma has picked up some all natural fertilizer for the grass and will continue to use her trusty knife to take out the weeds. Mama quit smoking so it is something she does to keep busy.

ON SUNDAY WE WENT BACK TO BORDEN AND MOST OF THE SNOW HAD MELTED. WE HAD FUN UNTIL I SAW TWO GERMAN SHEPHERDS OFF LEASH (LIKE ME) AND I RAN UP TO THEM AND BARKED AT THEM AND TRIED TO SCARE THEM AWAY. MAMA SCREAMED AT ME TO STOP - BUT I WAS OUT OF CONTROL. EVENTUALLY I DID AND MAMA GOT MAD AT ME AND APOLOGIZED TO THE OWNERS WHO WERE LAUGHING. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T BELIEVE A LITTLE THING LIKE ME HAD THE NERVE (BY THE WAY THE GERMAN SHEPHERDS JUST STOOD THERE AND BASICALLY LAUGHED AT ME TWO)

ALL THE WAY HOME MAMA SAID NO MORE OFF LEASH FOR ME AND ONE DAY I WAS GOING TO END UP DOG FOOD FOR ANOTHER DOG.

Hey everyone, our snow finally melted in our backyard. Even though it warms up to about 10 - 12 degrees by our 5 pm walk every day - it is still around 0 in the morning. Luckily we only go out for a quick potty in the morning.

Here are more pics from our walks at Base Borden on the weekend. There are a lot of army trucks, planes, helicopters and army people around. I learned how to camaflouge myself in the snow like they do with their army uniforms but as you can tell - Jessie stood out like a sore paw!

We love going for nice long walks - we are sooo tired on the way home we sometimes fall asleep.

On the weekend Mama took us to Base Borden both Saturday and Sunday. It is an army training base about 10 minutes from our house. On the base they have a super neat trail that Mama fell in love with. From the car we saw a lot of deer but when we went into the trail we didn't see any (Mama said it is because my barking scared them away). We had soo much fun, noone else was on the trail so we both got to go off leash. The trail is very long but we only did the 5 KM walk. We were exhausted when we got home, but it was fun.

We love sitting on couches. We couldn't imagine sitting on the floor all the time. We like couches because we can look out the window on some of them or it is where all the humans sit so we get to sit beside them. Sometimes we are very lucky and there is a chip or some other morsel of food between the cushions. I am a master at turning up all the cushions onto the floor and getting the food.

Yes that is Chelsea on the first photo. She is coming to our house in April - we can't wait. Her Mama has been with school, working full-time and taking Chelsea to her numerous modelling assignments. Hopefully when her Mom and Chelsea get a break they will come back to blogging.

Saturday we had a lot of people over. But on Sunday it was sooo cold outside and we didn't go anywhere and noone came over. We were soo bored and so was Mama . There was nothing on TV and Mama had already cleaned the house so basically we just stared at the walls and eachother. As you can see from the last photo Mama's boredom eventually became my problem. Thank god she eventually decided to eat (as she does when she is bored) or who knows what she would have done to me. Happy Easter everyone - and pray that this frigid cold weather will go away so we can go for walks again and Mama will leave my hair alone. :-(

I know it looks like we don't do much but we do. Both Jake and I secure the premises at all times. We back onto a park and we know if there is another dog within 100 miles of our house. We begin to bark rather loudly and well mama says sometimes annoyingly. This is why Mama comes outside with us all the time - to watch us and keep us if at all possible quiet. It doesn't matter if if it is 5 am or 11 pm - we are on the constant watch for any movement in the park. We don't normally bark at humans unless they come near our fence. After all we have to guard our Mama. It is hard work but someone has to do it.

Mama rarely ever gives us some human food other than a niblet here or there - EXCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO SPAGHETTI. We know - our noses are sooo exceptional when she is making it. She puts two plate aside for us (our people plates we get to use) and then when she sits down to eat with Daddy - we get to eat ours too. Mine lasts about 1 - 2 minutes but Jake's - basically inhales it in one breath - it is literally gone in 2 seconds and he is already looking for more.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes. My bday has been postponed. I was violently ill on my birthday throwing up non-stop so my Mama cancelled all celebrations (and her work for the day) and just spent it watching me and making sure I drank water and seeing if it was necessary to rush me to the vet (which she really didn't want to do on my birthday). Luckily I felt better and she took me (and Jake) for a 1/2 hour drive in the car. I got to sit on her lap (which I am never allowed to) and mama opened the window in the freezing cold air so I could stick my head out - I was soooo happy. It was the best birthday present ever. Soon Mama will have a real bday party for me - After all I turned 5 and that is a big birthday - stay tuned for pics!

Mama was bored on the weekend and instead of giving us oodles of cheese she played with some of her fave pics. She made them crazy colours - Mama really needs a hobby (like kissing and cuddling with us non-stop).

Winter Fest

We went with Mommy and Daddy and our cousin Daniel to Winterfest in Barrie about a month ago. We had soo much fun. Everyone kept saying how cute we were cause we were wearing our boots. Daniel is really patient with us and lets us stop to smell stuff and pee if we have too. He is good too where he can find out if we are trying to eat something we shouldn't (Mama has him trained). Anyway enjoy the pics.

We want to give a shout out to Samantha who celebrated a Bday last month. She dressed up as a hula dancer and did a funny (well it was kind of scary ) dance. We did get a chance to have some cake so it was pretty good. Happy Birthday Samantha!

We have had a pretty mild (for Barrie that is) winter here until now. Which is good cause finally momma has time to help us blog. We didn't go for a walk today - the first time in ages cause it is too cold. We kept looking at Mama on our walk so we turned around 3 houses in. Mama came back and shovelled little trails for us and then the driveway and before you know it she was pooped and was done for the day. So hopefully we will see you all more! We missed you!

FREEZING

Yep it is officially freezing here! We don't mind al the snow but it is sooo cold Mama is forcing us to wear boots in the backyard to "potty" and we couldn't go for a walk toady. We are supposed to get a big snowstorm tomorrow. We are just going to stay indoors with Mama and eat and snuggle (hmm I guess winter ain't so bad afterall)!

Light the candles

This week Jessie and I took turns lighting the candles on the Minorah. We celebrate both Hannukah and Christmas. We even got to sample some of Mama's latkes (her first time making them). Daddy says she needs more practice! We don't think so we loved them.

To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit and Like to Complain About Our Pets:
1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. (That's why they call it 'fur'nature.)
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.
Remember: In many ways, dogs and cats are better than kids because they: 1. Eat less 2. Don't ask for money all the time 3. Are easier to train 4. Normally come when called 5. Never ask to drive the car 6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends 7. Don't smoke or drink
8. Don't have to buy the latest fashions
9. Don't want to wear your clothes
10. Don't need a 'gazillion' dollars for college.
And finally,
11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children.
